What makes Poppies chips so good?

What makes the perfect chip? Golden and crispy on the outside. Light and fluffy on the inside. And made from potatoes grown right here in the UK 🇬🇧

We are proud to work with trusted British farmers like Pete Legge to bring you chips that truly stand out. On his 5,000-acre farm in the Norfolk–Cambridgeshire fens, Pete grows exceptional potatoes in rich, fertile soil perfect for producing that classic chippy texture and flavour.

Right now, it’s planting season, and Pete’s busy sowing Miranda potatoes, an early-maturing variety known for their beautiful colour, fluffy centres, and incredible taste. In short: they’re made for proper chips.

Once harvested, they come straight to Poppies. We peel and slice every potato into the perfect chip shape and fry them twice (yes, twice) to get that perfect crunch on the outside and soft, pillowy middle.

Fancy them the proper way? Take it from Pete: haddock and chips, curry sauce, and a generous splash of vinegar. You can’t go wrong 😉

At Poppies, we like to do things properly, the way we have for generations – supporting British farmers, only using fresh fish delivered daily and championing the traditional methods of preparation and cooking to serve up the finest fish and chips in London.

Because great ingredients make all the difference.
